Becoming a praying church

“Much prayer, much power. Little prayer, little power.”

“The one concern of the devil is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from our prayerless work, or prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, he mocks our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray.”
– Samuel Chadwick

The big three tools in disciplemaking are the Truth of the Word, relationships (Christ being seen in us) and prayer. All of these tools depend on each other, but without prayer the other two will become powerless. As Charles Spurgeon said, “I could not too earnestly entreat you to be above all things earnest in prayer.” Jesus greatly emphasizes prayer (Hebrews 7: 25, Romans 8: 34, Mark 1: 35)… as did the apostles and the early church. Can we afford to do any different, no matter the cost?

Making a prayer request.

Hebrews 4:16 states, “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Our Father in heaven welcomes us as we approach his throne in prayer.

In Matthew 18:19 Jesus says, “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.” Therefore, it is valid and prudent to ask for others to pray for us. God hears and honors these prayers.

Once submitted to our prayer team, your needs will be prayed for. Because this is a public form, there are some simple guidelines to keep in mind before submitting your request.

We ask that you submit your first name. Anonymous posting is, however, acceptable.

Including your email address is optional. If included, we may contact you for follow-up. But, due to a possibly large number of requests, we are unable to do so for all postings.

Please do not use this form for anything other than prayer requests.
