The Six-Step Program - STEP FIVE - Knowing Your Enemy

We must know who God is and who we are in relation to Him – We are SAINTS (46 NT references)
We must know who Satan is and who are we in relation to him – SOLDIERS! 2Tim 2:3

We are in a battle..The question is, “With who?” Ephesians 6:10-18

Our battle is against a legion of demonic forces we cannot see! 1 Peter 5:8

We have an enemy that hates us and whose sole mission is to destroy us.
We live in his kingdom - Luke 4:5-7
He couldn’t offer all the kingdoms of the world if they weren’t already his!
That doesn’t mean we have to live a life of defeat! - Col 1:12-14

He will whisper lies to us trying everything within his means to render us ineffective John 8:44 -Father of Lies
The fact that our text in Ephesians tells us to put on the armor of God – shows us that we are vulnerable to some degree!

We must know right now that we belong to God and nothing can separate us from Him! Rom 8:37-39

In the “Screwtape Letters”, C.S. Lewis wrote: “There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve their existence. The other is o believe and feel an unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist or a magician with the same delight.”

Satan is a created being and because:
*He is not omnipresent – (everywhere at once)
*He is not omniscient – (knowing everything) Heb 4:12-13
*He is not omnipotent (all powerful)

We can also fight the enemy through fasting
We read about this in Mark 9:17-29

He has no power or authority to keep your from progressing in your walk with Christ.
He can never own you because you have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and you are forever in Him!
