How believers should treat one another
Steve Lane

A. Review
We all have a mission and are on a journey... a pilgrimage
Romans 12:1 The responsibility of all believers to surrender to God
The remaining five chapters – where the rubber meets the road.

B. God’s love must be shown in a genuine way to all people (The Spirit filled life)
Romans 12: 9 “Love must be sincere”
This is not some isolated teaching, we must go back to the source... not try harder.
– similar placement to the famous love chapter, which follows teaching on the gifts
– You cannot do what is required of you by following the law or self effort
– If a body is going to put these things into practice [gifts, etc] supernatural love

C. All evil should be hated
Romans 12: 9 Evil in context here must refer to relationships –
When we cling to evil thoughts and attitudes we hurt ourselves and the whole body.
This does not change the reality of how relationships work; building trust...

D. Fellow Christians should be loved and respected
Romans 12: 10 We belong to one another
We are to treat all with respect, not just those we like with a natural affinity or those..
