Two under currants – faith alone in Christ and our salvation is not based on merit

Being His witnesses (Israel) – came with special promises and responsibilities

Romans 9:1 – 8 Paul answers a question on the minds of many Christian Jews.
Israel no longer God’s representative... But God is not setting aside Israel forever.

God chose Israel not because they had been something special and God noticed it. He chose them before they existed and even had a chance to do anything right or wrong.

Warnings to Gentiles, even the church about being boastful over Israel Rom 11:18 - 21

Election and Israel Romans 9: 9 – 29

C. God’s rejection of Israel because of their pride, rebellion, and unbelief, but His acceptance of the Gentiles through faith in Christ alone
Rom 9:30–33, 10:1 – 21 Paul fits this into the theme of Romans – Righteousness by faith!
Rom 10:1 – 4 They refused to see their sin.. The Gentiles on the other hand...
Rom 11: 22 – 24 speaking to the church as a whole... a time when the church age is over.
Election in ch 9 mainly concerning the nation Israel but also the individual but 10:13

D. God’s future plan for the restoration of Israel but the rejection of the Gentiles
Romans 11: 1 – 10 Individual Jews are being saved all through the present age but He will also deal with the nation.
So will Israel be restored then? They want to know. Romans 11: 1 – 2,
