BOFF: All Believers share in the Death and new life of Jesus

A. Assurance of God’s love for us
Romans 5:6 – 8 Ever doubt God’s love for you?
God loved you even before you were imputed with the righteousness of Christ! Just open the door of faith and benefits of these things will flood in.

B. We can be sure of our deliverance and reconciliation with God
Romans 5: 9 – 11 We do not have to fear His wrath
We have experienced God’s purpose for mankind… reconciled to God!

C. Assurance of the deliverance of sin and death because we are no longer in Adam but in Christ
Romans 5:12 In Adam there is no hope for deliverance but we are in Christ

D. Just as one act of sin brought condemnation for all, one act of righteousness brought justification for all.
Romans 5:17- 21 (summarizes 13 – 16) What will this mean for my life?
Will you receive God’s abundant provision of grace and reign in life??

E. All believers have died to sin
Romans 6: 1 – 2 It’s not a good question!
Death or why the substitute? (2 Cor 5:21, John 1:29, 1 John 1:8 – 2:3)
Live by faith (Rom 6 Gal 3:1 – 3, Gal 5:22 – 25, Eph 2: 8 – 10)
We all share in the sin and the punishment of our representative, Adam.
Those in Christ have been led out of slavery.

F. All believers have been baptized into Jesus Christ
Romans 6: 3 – 5 (Galatians 2: 20) Paul’s tone; please understand this!
Now joined with Christ and share every thing with him instead of Adam.
This is a two fold death. The punishment of death and the death of our sin nature.
We also share in His resurrection.
Like grafted branches we have a new source of life!
These are the truths upon which all truly victorious lives are built
You will never share in the death or the resurrection life of Jesus until you believe
And It is by faith that you live it out
